Minor driving fuel vehicles

Navi Mumbai, 25-06-2023: In recent weeks, the Navi Mumbai Regional Transport Office (RTO) has intensified its crackdown on minor drivers. Minor drivers are underage of 18 years. RTO inspectors have stopped and questioned youngsters operating four-wheelers and two-wheelers at a number of traffic crossings.

The parents of minors who were caught driving without a licence were punished. The severity of the offence determines the penalties for negligent driving, reckless driving, and driving without a licence. However, the penalties might total Rs 5,000.

The parents of the kids were advised that they would be required to pay the fines through an e-challan, but the minors were released with warnings. In order to ensure that accidents are prevented at all costs, the RTO is taking this measure.

An RTO official stated, “We are taking this action to discourage minors from driving.” Minors are not mature enough to manage driving safely because it is a major duty.

The RTO also collaborates with educators and parents to inform kids about the risks associated with driving while underage. The RTO thinks that by implementing these measures, they may contribute to accident prevention and maintain the safety of children on the roads.

The following are the penalties in Navi Mumbai for careless, reckless, and unauthorized driving:

  • reckless driving: 1,000 rupees
  • Indecent driving fine of Rs. 500
  • Rs. 5,000 for driving without a license

The RTO is dedicated to maintaining Navi Mumbai’s roadways as safe as possible. The RTO intends to increase safety by strictly punishing young drivers.
