Be ready to take a longer route if you’re planning a trip to the tourist destinations of beaches in Alibaug. Due to cracks appearing in some of the Revdanda-Salav bridge, it is under maintenance for 3 days from 8 June 2023 to 10 June 2023. The 520-meter-long main bridge’s supporting pillars, the connection between these two locations has been temporarily shut off for 3 days. The 1978-built bridge needs annual repair to address its deteriorating state.
The pillars of the bridge have developed cracks, and its condition has gotten worse, according to Jagdish Sukhdeve, the executive engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Alibaug. Restrictions have been put in place for safety reasons, and they will last until June 10, 2023.
The PWD-Alibaug division Dr. Yogesh Patilba Mhase (IAS), the Raigad collector, has issued an order implementing these banned on using bridge for 3 days. Raigad superintendent of police Somnath Gharge has ordered traffic to be diverted onto two alternate routes to allow visitors to reach Murud.
Alternative Route:
- Alibaug-Poynad-Vadkhal-Nagothane-Kolad-Roha-Talekhar-Salav
- Alibag-Velkade-Vave-Sudkoli-Roha-Talekhar-Salav
Both routes are arrange to guarantee that travelers may access Murud while avoiding the closed bridge, these detours have been put in place.
It is urged that until the connectivity between Alibaug and Murud is fully restored, all travelers, especially those operating large trucks, stick to these alternate routes.
