Mumbai Police will deploy over 15,000 personnel in the city ahead of the upcoming Dussehra rallies, Durga immersion, and ICC World Cup match. The massive deployment of police officials is aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring controlled traffic 

Dussehra is one of the biggest Hindu festivals, and Mumbai is known for its grand Dussehra rallies. This year, two rival Shiv Sena factions,  led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, are expected to draw large crowds as they will be holding separate rallies on the same day, which has raised concerns about law and order. The Mumbai Police is taking all necessary precautions to ensure that the rallies pass off peacefully. The rallies will be held at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai and Shivaji Park in Dadar, respectively

Durga Visarjan is another major event that takes place during the festive season. Millions of people come out on the streets to immerse the idols of Goddess Durga in the Arabian Sea. The Mumbai Police will be deployed along all major immersion routes to ensure the safety of devotees and to prevent traffic jams.

In addition to the Dussehra rallies and Durga immersion, Mumbai is also hosting an ICC World Cup match on Tuesday. The match is expected to attract a large number of spectators, and the Mumbai Police is making special arrangements to manage the crowd and ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the vicinity of the Wankhede Stadium.

In 2019 ,there was a clash between rival Shiv Sena factions at a Dussehra rally in Mumbai . This scandalous  clash between the two sides resulted in the injury of several people. 

In order to prevent a repetition of this kind of violence, or traffic . Mumbai Police have deployed a significant number of personnel in the run-up to the upcoming dussehra festivals. Furthermore, the police will be using drones and other monitoring tools to keep an eye on the situation.

Here are some traffic advisories issued by the Mumbai Police :

• Dussehra rallies: Azad Maidan and Shivaji Park will be closed to traffic on October 24 from 2:00 PM onwards. Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and to take alternative routes.

• Durga Visarjan: All major immersion routes will be closed to traffic on October 26 from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and to take alternative routes.

• ICC World Cup match:The Wankhede Stadium and its surrounding areas will be closed to traffic on October 25 from 12:00 PM onwards. Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and to take alternative routes.
